British Caving Audio Archives
« på: 08.05.2010 09:25 »
"The British Caving Library maintains a web-based archive of audio recordings relating to British caving and cavers. Although much of the material recounts exploits which are well documented elsewhere, the immediacy of the spoken word bring them to life. Some of the recordings are also a poignant reminder of friends no longer with us.

The recordings have come from a number of different sources, but special mention must be made of Geoff Yeadon, Lindsay Dodd, and Sid Perou whose contributions of many valuable recordings allowed the project to get off to a flying start.

There are currently 120 interviews given by 39 interviewees, lasting over 16 hours."

"When I try to imagine a faultless love
Or the life to come, what I hear is the murmur
Of underground streams, what I see is a limestone landscape."
W.H. Auden, "In Praise of Limestone"
